Cross Acceptance

Cross Acceptance Agreement between Germany and France

On 16 April 2008, the agreement on the procedure for the cross acceptance of locomotives, multiple units and passenger trains was signed between the Etablissement public de sécurité ferroviaire (EPSF) and the Federal Railway Authority (EBA). The agreement applies to the conventional and the high-speed sector.

The agreement (memorandum of understanding) is available to download below. The document consists of the following parts:

  • The agreement on the procedure for the cross acceptance of locomotives, multiple units and passenger trains in both the conventional and high-speed sectors between the EPSF and the Federal Railway Authority

Application guide

To accompany the cross acceptance agreement between the EPSF and the Federal Railway Authority of 16 April 2008, an application guide was drawn up. Its aim is to describe the process for the cross acceptance of rolling stock.

The technical requirements currently applicable to each country can be found in the technical document entitled EPSF/EBA/checklist, annex to the agreement on the procedure for cross acceptance of 16 April 2008.

Cross Acceptance Agreement between Italy, the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland and Germany

On 7 June 2007, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy and Austria signed an agreement on improving the cross acceptance of rolling stock. The document is available to download.
