Register of Infrastructure

Current EU law requires infrastructure managers to publish and annually update a register of infrastructure (RINF) that corresponds to the Technical Specifications for Interoperability (TSIs).

The RINF provides

  • the Member State that has to grant authorization for the placing in service of the subsystem with an overview of the major parameters for the operation of every line of the trans-European rail network;
  • the infrastructure manager with a compendium of the characteristics of the lines concerned, on the basis of which it can monitor developments in the implementation of the TSIs;
  • the railway undertakings using or wishing to use the lines with information on their distinctive features and parameters or interoperability specifications that are attributable to particular decisions taken by the infrastructure manager;
  • the general public with an overview of German railway infrastructure.

As the largest infrastructure manager in Germany, DB Netz AG publishes a register of infrastructure in accordance with the TSIs on its website. No legal guarantee is given for the correctness of the contents.
